Costume Research

Its time for the costumes. You may think that a director just hires in a group of costume people, throws together a few clothes ideas and thats it, done! But you're wrong sadly. Careful consideration is taken over the right costume for each of the characters (even the one liner extras that no one takes much notice of).

A costume tells a lot about a person. If they're homeless you wouldn't dress them in a designer suit and tie would you? It's part of the mise en scene of a film and can make or break it! So lets begin!

 Formal Costume Plot

When we have production team meetings, we need a formal description sheet of the characters and their costumes so that each of the crew members and actors/actresses have a reference to the characters as well as a memory jogger in case we forget what they should be wearing when.

So here is our costume plot for The Illusion of Existence characters:

Well now we have the costumes sorted, lets move onto the next set of research, the props!
